Sound Production Theory

This module explains different microphone techniques that I can use for recording in a studio, it also describes the different types of microphones and on what instrument they should be used on as they have different frequency responses. The last two outcomes explained  the signal flow in a mixer, how to use effects (eq, compression, delay, reverb, gates) and when you would use them on a channel, the last part of the outcome focused on types of cables, inputs and outputs you can use for audio recording and producing.

OUTCOME 1-2

Outcome 1-2 explained the definition of stereo image and why it is important to achieve a wide mix during the producing stage. I learned about the different polar responses of microphones and what microphone technique to rely on when recording.

OUTCOME 3-4
Pro Tools equalizer

This outcome helped me have a better understanding of when to use effects such as eq, compression, gates, reverb, delays and to not overuse them which I think is a very common mistake for beginner producers. The second part of the outcome was focused on inputs, outputs, balanced and unbalanced connections.
